Brieana Marticorena

Brieana Marticorena MPA '14, a native of Laguna Hills, Calif., graduated from Harvard University with a degree in government and a citation in Italian. Prior to joining WWS, Marticorena worked in orphanages in Ghana and Brazil, taught English in Thailand, Cambodia and Poland and interned for Congress and the Department of State. Marticorena was also awarded a Rosenthal Fellowship to the Western Hemisphere Office of the Department of the Treasury for the summer of 2010. She began her fellowship with SINSI in the Space Policy Office at the Department of Defense, followed by an assignment to the Pakistan-Afghanistan Coordination Cell in the Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon. Marticorena was granted a year's Leave of Absence to serve as a strategic advisor to International Security Assistance Force Commanders General John Allen and General Joseph Dunford. Following a summer's language training she returned to WWS the fall of 2014 to complete her MPA. She was named one of the Top 99 Under 33 most influential foreign policy leaders in 2013.
