Kelly Roache '12 MPA '15, a native of Little Silver, N.J., graduated cum laude from the Woodrow Wilson School with certificates in Near Eastern studies, Arabic Language and Culture and Persian Language and Culture. Roache focuses on crisis diplomacy in the Middle East and South Asia, specifically Iran and Afghanistan. Her semester abroad at the American University in Cairo was cut short by the Arab Upheavals of 2011, and she completed the semester at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Roache secured a summer internship where she was responsible for regional economic engagement in the Office of Indian Affairs, Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs at the Department of State and returned to that office the summer following graduation. Roache's fellowship began at Embassy Abu Dhabi the summer of 2013 she then completed her fellowship in the Political Section at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations, New York.
