Marian Messing

Marian Messing ‘11 MPA '17 (MPA/JD), of St. Paul, Minn., graduated cum laude from the Woodrow Wilson School with certificates in Arabic and Near Eastern Studies. Interested in human rights, political and economic development, and international law, Marian studied abroad in Cairo in the spring of 2010, followed by her SINSI summer internship in the Department of State’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. Marian spent her two fellowship years in the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy (in the Office of Rule of Law and Detainee Policy, followed by the Office of African Affairs) and the Political-Economic Section of the U.S. Embassy in Nouakchott, Mauritania. She received a JD from Yale Law School and an MPA from Princeton in 2017.
